The Bandingilo National Park, sometimes spelled Badingilo, is located in South Sudan's Equatoria region within the states of Jubek and Imatong. This park is located between the towns of Bor in the north and Juba in the south, to the east of the White Nile. The park covers the erstwhile states of Central Equatoria and Eastern Equatoria. It was established in 1992 and is situated in a wooded area near the White Nile River, it is covers 10,000 square kilometres (3,900 square miles) in size. The park is a proposed UNESCO World Heritage Site and is an Important Bird Area. The park is centred on a swamp 40 Kilometers east of the town of Mongalla which provides a dryseason refuge for mammal populations. It also includes the large surrounding area of mostly waterless plains.
This Park absorbed Mongalla Game Reserve, and roughly the park is now 10,100 kilometers area. This park also contains large marshlands stretching up into Jonglei State. It is home to the world's second-largest annual animal migration (largest is the Serengeti migration), involving multiple species of antelope including reedbuck, tiang, and white-eared kob, takes place in the park, which is also home to iconic African megafauna like the Nubian giraffe. A total of 39,992 birds, belonging to 264 different species, are recorded here.
