Rwanda is a country located in East and Central Africa. It is landlocked, boarded by Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. The country is elevated and it's covered in mountains in the western part of the country and savannah in the eastern part. The climate of Rwanda is moderate to subtropical having two dry seasons and two rainy seasons each year. Rwanda is quite a stable, safe landlocked country. Kigali the capital city of Rwanda is clean and cool. It has various accommodation places you can stay at from as low as $50 a night. You can make arrangements to be picked from the airport.

When you Mention Rwanda to anyone with a small measure of conscience, they'll recall images of the horrific genocide that brutalized this tiny country in 1994 though since those dark days a phenomenal transformation has been wrought and today the country is one of tribal unity, political stability and a promising future. Rwanda is well known for mountain gorillas an endangered species found only in the border areas between Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The home of the Rwandan gorillas is the Volcanoes national park in Kinigi, close to the border with Democratic Republic of Congo. Communities around where the gorillas are trekked benefit from as they get a percentage of the gorilla permit fee. Gorilla and Golden Monkey permits can be got at the Rwanda Developmen Board offices in the center of the town or east of Kigali within the working hours.

A passport is required to enter Rwanda and a certificate of vaccination for yellow fever is normally required to return back to the country of origin. The citizens of the following countries can visit Rwanda for 90 days without a visa; Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Uganda. Tourists from other European countries arriving by plane can get an 8 day single entry visa on arrival at a fee of $30 with possible extension later in Kigali. The Rwandan embassy can issue a 3month tourist visa for about the same price and less hassle.

The chief spoken language in Rwanda is Kinyarwanda, also spoken in the east of the Democratic Republic of C and in the south of Uganda in the Bufumbira-area. Kinyarwanda is a language of the Bantu linguistic family closely related to Kirundi spoken in the neighboring country Burundi and to Giha of western Tanzania. The official languages are English and French in addition to Kinyarwanda. Although due to migration in the last 50 years, several people speak a handful of other languages spoken in the East African region like Kiswahili, Lingala, Luganda etc.

Tourist attractions in Rwanda include but limited too, Genocide Memorial in Kigali, National Museum of Butare in Huye, Ntarama Genocide Memorial, Nyamata Genocide Memorial, Lake Kivu, Volcanoes national park, Nyungwe forest national park, Akagera national park and many more. Tourists are usually welcomed warmly in Rwanda, and the country is largely considered safe for visitors.

Rwanda is a very conservative society most people dress modestly especially women. Wearing shorts or tight skirts and skimpy tops is likely to get you stared at twice as much as normal. Greetings are very important in Rwanda. It is indecorous not to return a greeting or to start a conversation without a proper greeting. Younger persons must greet older persons first, and women greet men first. When being introduced for the first time or when greeting a professional colleague, Rwandans shake right hands and may place the left hand under the right forearm as a sign of respect.

In the heart of Africa, slightly south of the equator, Rwanda's relatively high altitude provides it with an extraordinarily pleasing tropical highland climate, albeit also with plenty of rain. Temperatures vary significantly between locations depending on their altitude, but very little from month to month in the same place. The average daily temperature in the capital, Kigali, is about 21°C. Rwanda's long rainy season lasts from about March to May, when the rain is hefty and tenacious then from June to mid-September is the long dry season mostly the best time to visit Rwanda.
