Day One

Arrival in Uganda for 14 days Kidepo Valley National Park bird watching safari

Today, you will arrive and meet your specified guide for a meet and greet and then transfer to Mabamba Wetland, which is known as the Ramser site, and this is the best experience where you will be able to enjoy and see the shoebill, which is looked for by many tourists as the highlight of the bird watching Safari experience. Once you have finished Mabamba, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, which is also a great tourist attraction for the bird watching experience.

While exploring and doing the safari, expect to see a lot of bird species, which, among others, include the Malachite Kingfisher, Long-toed Lapwing, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, African Jacana, and Yellow-billed Duck, among other species common to Africa's water and adjacent habitats.

Day Two

Birdwatching in Mabira Forest

Yes, today is the day when you will spend exploring the Mabira forest, where you will see a lot of bird species, including the Gunea-Congo Forest species, which makes it interesting. Please get ready to see the different species of bird species. Therefore, during this great safari experience, you will be able to explore different birdwatching species, which, among others, include the Robin, Brown-chested and Fire-crested Alethe, Scaly-breasted and Brown Illadopsis, and Nahan's Francolin.

We will work hard to find white-spotted flufftail, which prefers to hang out near streams, as well as blue-shouldered and snowy-crowned flufftail. Kidepo Valley National Park bird watching safari continues to Soroti.

After Mabira Forest, we continue and go birding in the eastern part of Soroti. We will determine whether to undertake morning birding or proceed to Soroti, birding via the maddy areas and rice plots, according to the previous day's observations. There are different species of birds, among which black egrets and rufous-bellied herons can be seen rather frequently. Soroti is a town that serves as a starting point for trips to the Fox's Weaver and Karamoja Apalis sites, among others.

Today, after having breakfast, you will drive to Mountain Elgon National Park, where you will visit Sipi Falls as well as the After breakfast, head to Sipi village to bird in Mountain Elgon National Park. Because of the high height, chilly weather is to be expected. Three full days will be spent exploring Kidepo; activities will include bird watching, day and night game drives, cultural visits to Karamojong communities for cultural performances, game and bird walks within the park, and comfortable walking.

These will offer you the best safari experience, which is extremely interesting and wonderful. Kidepo Valley National Park is the least visited of Uganda's parks, yet it offers the best ornithological tours. The park is good for wildlife, bird watching, and cultural encounters, so you don’t need to miss it for the best safari experience. For this wonderful safari experience, we shall primarily look at the bird species found here. It is reported that about 28 species are indigenous to the Somali-Masai and Sudan-Guinea Savanna biomes, which can be found within this park.

Among the best species of birds that you will enjoy, you will enjoy Pied, Isabelline, and Heuglin's Wheaters. Ethiopian Swallows Grayish Flycatcher, Red Pate Cisticolas, Karamoja Apalis Slate-colored Boubou, Fan-tailed Raven, Superb Starling, Red-billed Oxpecker, Eastern Violet-backed, Pygmy, and Beautiful Sunbirds, White-bellied Tit, Mouse-colored Pendu Tit, Northern and Yellow-billed Shrikes, Slate-colored Pendu Tit, Eastern Violet-backed, Pygmy, and Beautiful Sunbirds Rufous and Chestnut Sparrow, Yellow-spotted Petronia, White-headed and White-billed Buffalo-Weavers, White-browed and Chestnut-crowned Sparrow Weavers, Grey-capped Social and Speckle-fronted Weavers, Pytilias like Green-winged, Orange-winged, and Red-winged, Black-bellied and Black-faced Waxbills, and the Brown-rumped Bunting are just a few of the 480 bird species the Park boosts yet very likely to be seen.

Other species include Common Ostriches, Secretary Birds, Scissor-tailed Kites, Eastern Chanting Goshawks, Pygmy Falcons, Fox Kestrels, Stone Partridges, Clapperton's, Heuglin's, Yellow-necked Francolins, Kori, White-bellied, and Hartlaub's Bustards. The uncommon Violet-tipped Courser, Black-headed Lapwing, Four-banded Sand Grouse, Bruce's Green Pigeon, Rose-ringed Parakeet, White-crested Turaco, White-bellied Go-away Bird, White-faced Scoops-Owl, Long-tailed and Standard-winged Nightjars, Little Green Bee-eater, Abyssinian and Rufous-crowned Rollers, the Abyssinian Ground, Eastern Yellow, and Jackson's Hornbills are also among the many birds we will look for.

Still inspecting the scrubs and traveling across the dry land of thorny acacia: red-fronted and black-breasted barbets, brown-backed woodpeckers, singing bush larks, and red-winged larks. Surely, you don’t need to miss these great species of birds.
