A holiday to Africa to see gorillas and other animals
Would you be interested in exploring Africa and seeing
gorillas and other amazing animals? Would you like to know
the best places where you can see and enjoy the best scenes
of the animals, as well as the gorillas? In this article, we
explore the best places in Africa where you can see gorillas
and other animals. You need to know that gorilla trekking is
the highlight of all African safaris,
and most travelers travel to Africa's major cities to see
the gorillas in addition to the other animals living in the
wild. The cost of seeing the gorillas is one of the
attractive factors as to why people come to Africa to see
the gorillas.
On top of that, it is only in Africa that the endangered
mountain gorillas are found, so you need to come to Africa
on a holiday and see the gorillas. It is highly recommended
that visitors who are interested in seeing the gorillas book
early enough because the permits are in high demand.
Countries such as Uganda,
Rwanda, and the
Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the gorillas are found, have proven to be
the leading destinations for wildlife safaris, making these countries a home for both gorillas and the
big five animals, including the lions, rhinos, buffaloes,
elephants, and leopards.
Africa, as a continent, is full of very many countries that
offer diverse wilderness experiences, and it is a continent
where you can go and enjoy the best in the wild. Even for
people who are interested in beach tourism, Africa is the
best destination where you can achieve this great dream. But
today, we look at the best countries in Africa where you can
go on holiday and see gorillas and other animals together.
Here you might not need to move from one country to another
for wildlife and gorillas, but you will stay in one country
and enjoy all the two major safaris in wildlife and
gorillas. Here are the countries or places where you can go
on holiday to Africa to see gorillas and other animals:

The Democratic Republic of Congo
is one of the best countries with its diverse wildlife,
including gorillas. The country has been affected by
insecurity, but it still offers various species of gorillas
and wild life, and it has been known as the largest or the
biggest country found in eastern and central Africa. The
Democratic Republic of Congo
features the
Virunga national park, and this is the park that enables visitors on holiday to
Africa to see the endangered mountain gorillas. By taking
the gorilla trekking safari in this great park, you will be
able to see the endangered mountain gorillas as well as the
other wild species. Other than the mountain gorillas, the
Kahunzi-biega national park
still in Congo is home to the eastern lowland gorillas, a
species of gorilla that is not found in other countries. It
also offers the best places to see the golden monkeys, which
are found in the
Virunga National Park
as well.

Rwanda
Is known as the country with a thousand hills, and with her
intense marketing strategies that have seen all the major
international sports clubs advertise this country on their
shirts, the country's tourism industry has received
international recognition. It is important to note that the
country has mountain gorillas, which are found in the
Volcanoes National Park. Rwanda also features
the
Akagera National Park, and this is the park where you can see the big five
animals, including lions, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, and
leopards. The country is also home to chimpanzees, which can
be seen in
Nyungwe Forest National Park, and thus you can see both gorillas and other wildlife
animals in Rwanda as
well.

Uganda
is the country known as the Pearl of Africa, and it hosts
more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the
wild. Uganda is prominent
for having two national parks where you can go and see the
gorillas, and these are Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest National Park and
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. In addition,
Uganda has eight
national parks that are full of
other wild animals such as lions, hippopotamuses, leopards,
buffaloes, herds of elephants, and several species of birds.
What we can say is that
Uganda is the best
country in Africa where you can go on holiday and see the
gorillas and other wildlife animals.

Kenya
Tourism in Kenya is massive, and this is one of the
countries that receives most of the visitors due to its
border with the ocean and because the country features
several wildlife reserves, conservancies, and parks where
the animals can be seen with ease. Kenya features Masia Mara
National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park, and these
countries are so interesting with mammals such as lions,
leopards, elephants, and much more. However, Kenya has no
gorillas, and you can combine both
Uganda and Kenya safaris
to have a chance to see the animals and the gorillas.

Tanzania
You cannot talk about wild wildlife in Africa, and you fail
to mention something about Tanzania. Tanzania is the biggest
country in eastern Tanzania, and the major parts of the
country are spread with
wildlife parks. However, most
of the parks are found in Arusha, where you can visit
Ngorongoro Craters, Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara
National Park, and all the wild land safaris in Tanzania
have the wild beast migration in northern Serengeti National
Park as the major highlight.

The cost of seeing gorillas in Africa
As I have mentioned, the gorillas in Africa are found in
only three countries:
Uganda,
Rwanda, and the
Democratic Republic of the Congo. Each of these countries has different prices for visitors
to see the gorillas. In
Uganda, one is required
to pay $700 to have a gorilla permit in order to see the
gorillas. With the gorilla permit in
Uganda, you will be
allowed to see the gorilla for only one hour. However, those
who are interested in seeing the gorillas more than once can
still go for the gorilla habituation experience in Uganda,
which costs $1500 per person.
The cost of seeing gorillas in
Rwanda is much higher
since Rwanda is marketed as a luxurious destination. For
Rwanda, you will need to pay $1500 per person for the permit
to be able to see the gorillas. The gorillas are only found
in
Volcano National Park. You need to book this activity with a recognized tour
operator or directly through the Rwanda Development Board.
Finally, for those who would like to see gorillas in the
Democratic Republic of Congo, you will need to pay $400 for the gorilla permit to see
the gorillas in
Virunga National Park.
African holiday safari to observe gorillas in their natural
environment Depending on fitness levels, gorilla visitors in
Africa must be at least 15 years old and at most 85 years
old. The availability of sedan chair carriers, which are
used to carry people who feel unfit and are unable to walk
into the forest at the time of their trek, has made gorilla
trekking for elders possible, particularly in the Bwindi
forest. You will be carried by potters to and from the
forest during your trek; hiring the sedan chair can be done
in advance or on the day of the trek and costs between $400
and $500. Throughout the year, people go gorilla trekking in
Africa, but the drier months of January, February, June, and
early September are the best because they make it easier to
travel to the park and provide a clear view of the gorillas
because the vegetation is not as densely covered. Therefore,
your trip to Africa to see gorillas and other animals would
be so much more interesting as you explored the above
places.
